5 February 2016, Phnom Penh – USAID-CTIP met with the National Employment Agency (NEA) in Phnom Penh to develop joint initiatives to improve access to information on local employment opportunities for low skilled workers. The main objective of the meeting was to facilitate cooperation between the NEA and Open Institute (OI) in establishing a trusted Employment Service System. The gathering generated a fruitful result as H.E. Hong Choeun, Director General of the NEA expressed his interest and eagerness to join the common effort. He proposed that OI and the NEA work jointly on the job seeking platform and he invited the CTIP program to collaborate with their 12 regional offices to organize employers meetings and pre-employment orientations in the project’s target communes.
